East Palo Alto has five main parks and four smaller “pocket” parks throughout its 2.5 square miles. The City also passed an updated Parks Master Plan in 2023 which outlines the new parks and park improvements the City plans to make in coming years. See below for more information on city parks, the parks plan, and activities in the parks.
City parks
All city parks are all open to the public 365 days per year. See here for more information on the city’s parks. You can also reserve certain parks or park facilities online through this page.
The city’s parks are:
- Bell Street Park — Bell and University, next to the Senior Center and YMCA, has a skate park
- Cooley Landing Park — East end of Bay Rd, views of the whole bay, connects to the Bay Trail
- Jack Farrell Park — Near Fordham and Michigan, basketball court, baseball field, playground, workout equipment
- Joel Davis Park — Tate and Oakes, playground, picnic areas, barbeques
- MLK Jr Park — North end of Daisy, baseball field, soccer field, playground, benches, Bay Trail access
- Small pocket parks — East Bayshore and Bay Rd and at Newbridge and Bay Rd
There are also two temporary pop-up parks with play structures at West Bayshore and Donohoe, and West Bayshore and Newell.
Parks Master Plan
In 2023, the City adopted a new Parks Master Plan outlining improvements to existing parks and new park acquisitions over the coming years. The plan could not have been developed without critical input from residents over a two year engagement process. View the full Parks Master Plan here.
