The City of East Palo Alto is requesting proposals from qualified professional engineering consultants for the City of East Palo Alto Trash Capture Device project.

Project Background

Since the adoption of the first Municipal Regional Permit (MRP) in 2009, the City of East Palo Alto has spent significant resources identifying trash-generating areas and sources within its jurisdiction, and is taking proactive steps to address trash capturing through the installation of a Large Full Trash Capture System. This system intends to significantly reduce municipal trash, demonstrating the City's commitment to a cleaner and healthier community.

The goal of this project is to guarantee that the City of East Palo Alto, Caltrans, and the City of Menlo Park are well-positioned to comply with the requirements of MRP 3.0. Compliance with these requirements will help ensure that 100% of trash is captured and doesn't cause any harm to the environment by June 2025.
