Press Release - School employee arrested for lewd acts

On September 6, 2024, the East Palo Alto Police Department received allegations that the suspect, James Edward Fitch (54-year-old Stockton resident), had engaged in lewd acts with a minor at his place of employment, the Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School, where he served as the Campus Relations Coordinator.  East Palo Alto Police investigators launched an investigation and developed probable cause to arrest Fitch for three felony counts of lewd acts with a minor and one felony count of enticing a minor for lewd acts.

 

On September 16, 2024, the East Palo Alto Police Department, in partnership with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Team, served a $500,000 arrest and search warrant for Fitch at his residence.  Fitch will be booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
