Chief's Community Update - February 9, 2025

Greetings East Palo Alto community,

This past week, with City Council authority, we converted our Police Commander rank to Police Captain.  Converting our Commander rank to Captain allowed us raise the minimum qualifications and to offer a competitive compensation package which will allow us to recruit a candidate who will be a great fit for our community.  The Captain reports directly to the Chief of Police and responsible for leading Sergeants, Officers, and Professional staff.  If you know a highly qualified candidate who would be a great fit for our community, please direct them to our hiring PAGE.  Our recruitment is open and scheduled to close on February 27, 2025.
