Greetings East Palo Alto!

Our ALPR audit for January 2025 is completed, and can be access by clicking this link.  We look forward to the future installation of our remaining fixed ALPR cameras.  As you will see, our use of the Flock Safety ALPR platform has been quite positive, and has contributed to a safer East Palo Alto.

If you would like additional real time data regarding our usage of Flock, please visit our transparency portal.

Parking enforcement has been an area of significant concern in our community.  Last week, I updated our website to provide you with updated statistics showing the number of parking citations issued, and which violations were cited.  I plan to post the updated year-to-date statistics the second Sunday of each month going forward.

In 2025, a new parking law (Assembly Bill 413 - Daylighting) went into effect in California.  This new law makes it illegal to park within a certain distance of crosswalks.  Thank you to our Public Works team for leading the way with our incorporation of this new law.  Please visit our Daylighting webpage for more information about this new law.

Thank you for working with us for a safer East Palo Alto,

Chief Jeff Liu
