EPA Razorbacks Camp 2023

The Recreation Department strives to bring high quality free recreational programming to the entire community of East Palo Alto. Through TOT funding the City of East Palo Alto is able to provide funding for recreational programming with our non-profit funders such as Anamatangi Polynesian Voices, Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation, CoolineKids, EPA Boxing Club, EPA Community Archive, EPATT, Fresh Approach, Hope Horizon, and Live in Peace.  You can learn more about all these organizations and their programming by clicking on their website links above.

In the Summer of 2024 through the City’s Summer Park Activation Program our community partners provided incredible enriching and wide-ranging programming for all the citizens of East Palo Alto. Funding was provided for this programming to the following organizations: Camp Doza, EPA Razorbacks, EPATT, Live in Peace, My Gym, Sign Gypsies, Step It Up Dance, StreetCode Academy and YCS.  You can learn more about all these organizations and their programming by clicking on their website links above.

On average Summer Park Activation provides programming for over 1,000 participants per summer with an estimated collective program time of over 500 hours.

Additionally, the city has continued its longstanding partnership with Ravenswood Little League, East Palo Alto T-Ball, and the San Francisco Giants Community Fund to provide a free summer baseball program to the youth in the community. Youth from ages 4-13 participate in a non-competitive coed baseball program where they learn the basics of baseball and learn essential life skills. All children are given a free uniform, hat, and glove. What is more, the youth and their families are sometimes given the opportunity to attend SF Giants games for free!  This year the program served over 160 children and their families from June to August.
