Affordable Housing Preservation
The City of East Palo Alto is pleased to announce its Draft Guidelines for its Affordable Housing Preservation Program. Drafting these guidelines are the first foundational step to potentially developing a preservation program that could help physically and financially preserve affordable housing in East Palo Alto. Preservation can be done through the conversion of market-rate housing to income restricted housing or the preservation or extension of existing income restricted housing restrictions and agreements. The City of East Palo Alto launched the development of these program guidelines with the help of the County of San Mateo’s Equity Innovation Fund. City staff are continuing to pursue grants and an obtain other funding to make available through a notice of funding availability that will follow this guidelines process.
Located on this page you will find the draft guidelines, a summary presentation of the draft guidelines, and a video presentation given by Tim Davis, Director of Housing Consulting Services for HEART of San Mateo County, who has partnered with the City of East Palo Alto to develop these guidelines and this program.
